The new roller coaster is called the Flash Coaster and has opened at Aquashow Park, in Quarteira,
The Flash Coaster joins the other attractions at the Algarve water park and is billed as the first roller coaster of its kind in Portugal. According to Celestino Santos, head of Aquashow Park, as reported by Postal, "it's a unique experience in our country, with loops, curves, and drops that defy gravity."
With a capacity of 16 passengers per ride, the new roller coaster begins its journey with a backward movement before accelerating abruptly to 100 km/h. Over 350 metres, passengers face complete turns, inversions, and high-speed movements, on a route that alternates between aggressive climbs and abrupt descents.
The attraction is designed for thrill-seekers, but there are strict rules. Entry is prohibited to anyone under 1.40 meters tall, and loose shoes, pocket objects, glasses, or cameras must be removed. People with heart problems, dizziness, or back problems should not participate in the experience.
During the months of July and August, admission to Aquashow Park is 36 euros for adults and 26 euros for children between 6 and 10 years old, as well as for those over 65. However, online purchases offer a 10% discount, according to the park's official website.
Admission includes access to all attractions, subject to waiting in line. In addition to the Flash Coaster, the park also features the largest water roller coaster in the country, with a 750-meter track, combining dry and underwater sections.
Located in Volta do Parque, in Quarteira, Aquashow focuses on an integrated entertainment model that combines adrenaline and comfort. The arrival of the Flash Coaster marks a new stage in the park's offerings, reinforcing the Algarve as a destination for lovers of speed and vertigo.
Good luck if you trust all the bolts!

It's the welds that are the issue after hundreds of sessions of vibration. We have seen this in the US several times. Daily inspection is paramount.
