Among the headline music acts are Mariza (performing on the 20 August), Dillaz (21 August), Gabriel “O Pensador” (22 August), Fernando Daniel (23 August), and The Gift (24 August), the latter joined by the Coral and the Amália Hoje project for a special performance. In addition, there will be live music throughout the week, including DJs, local bands, orchestras, and community philharmonic groups.

The event will also feature food stalls (‘tasquinhas’), funfair rides, exhibitions from local businesses, and a wide range of entertainment. Highlights include the 24th Albobaça Equestrian show, the 31st São Bernardo Cycling Circuit, and the automobile skills demonstration.

Other attractions include the “Marcas de Alcobaça” exhibition, showcasing local expertise in ceramics, cutlery, and agri-food products. There will also be displays of farm machinery and livestock, live cooking demonstrations, a museum exhibition, and traditional crafts, both on show and created live.

The festival is held in celebration of Alvobaça’s municipal holiday on 20 August, honouring Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, a key figure of the Cistercian Order and spiritual symbol of the region. It also coincides with the historic São Bernardo Fair, which has been celebrated for over 800 years.

Since 2022, the fair has returned to the heart of the town, stretching between the Rossio square and the Cova da Onça area. Organised by Alcobaça Town Council, the event pays tribute to the region’s deep cultural roots and long-standing Cistercian heritage.
