The victory in the Nations League final against Spain (2-2, 5-3 on penalties) helped the Portuguese national team move up one place and surpass the Netherlands, which dropped to seventh.
Argentina remains in first place, followed by Spain and France, while England is fourth and Brazil fifth.
Still in the top 10, Germany, defeated by Portugal (2-1) in the Nations League semi-finals, rose to ninth place, and Croatia rounds out the top ten, also improving one spot, in contrast to Italy, which dropped two spots to 12th.
Among Portuguese-speaking African countries, Cape Verde remains the highest-ranked, in 73rd place.
Angola rose two spots to 85th, Mozambique (99th) and Guinea-Bissau (99th) dropped three spots, and São Tomé and Príncipe rose one spot to 193rd.
The ranking also includes Macau, in 192nd place, and East Timor, in 195th place.
