According to IP, until the end of July, “traffic will continue to alternate between 8 am and 6 pm” as part of the ER 225 rehabilitation project to carry out drainage, paving, vertical and horizontal signage works.
The traffic restrictions are between kilometres 36.3 (on the border between the districts of Aveiro and Viseu) and 67.3 (in Castro Daire) and will be clearly signposted.
The rehabilitation contract for this section of the ER 225 - approximately 31 kilometres long and located in the municipality of Castro Daire - represents an investment of around 6.2 million euros.
“The intervention is being carried out as part of IP's strategy of continuous improvement and reinforcement of the quality, reliability, availability and safety of the National Road Network.”
This project aims to improve safety and reduce accidents, as well as improve the quality of life of the population through urban and environmental interventions, with a reduction in noise levels and pollutant emissions.
According to IP, the pavement will be completely rehabilitated, vertical and horizontal signage will be reinforced and adapted, and the drainage system will be improved.
“At the various intersections along the ER 225, improvements will be made to the pavement and signage, and two junctions, located at kilometre 39.675 and kilometre 39.760, will be redesigned.”
The contract also provides for stabilisation work on eight excavation slopes and one embankment slope.
