“This amount represents an important step in the operationalisation of structural support for the development of the region, reinforcing the confidence of promoters and the commitment to a smart, green and inclusive growth strategy”, considered the Alentejo CCDR.

In a statement, the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) added that, of the 200 million euros in European funds approved to date, 32 million euros have been validated, “with the commitment rate at 18%”.

“These figures demonstrate the dynamism of the institutional, business and social fabric of Alentejo, which has been able to respond to the challenges posed by this new cycle of European funding”, he highlighted.

In the statement, the management authority of the Alentejo 2030 Regional Operational Programme assured that it will continue “working side by side with the region’s partners”.

The aim is to ensure “that the approved funds translate into concrete projects, with a real impact on improving the quality of life, competitiveness and cohesion of the territory”.

In another statement, the Alentejo CCDR announced that, this afternoon, Commitment Agreements will be signed in Évora within the scope of the Partnerships for Non-Urban Cohesion, which will mobilise an additional 8.84 million euros.

The ceremony will take place at the Évora Region Business Centre (NERE) at 4:30 pm.

The moment “marks the formal beginning of a new phase of cooperation with several regional and local entities, both public and private, committed to promoting more cohesive and sustainable territorial development outside the main urban centres of Alentejo”, highlighted the CCDR.

The agreements, whose bidding notices have not yet been launched, “represent an essential step in the implementation of the regional development strategy defined for the 2021-2027 programming period”.

This process directly involves partner entities such as municipalities, inter-municipal communities, or local development associations, among others.
