This will be the brand's 13th store in Portugal and the 3rd of four new stores announced in the first half of 2024.
These openings represent a total investment of 40 million euros in the national market, according to a statement reported by Notícias ao Minuto.
In addition, the new store will "create more than 80 jobs, bringing the total number of Primark employees in Portugal to over 1,850".
"With more than 2,750 m² of commercial space, spread over a single floor, the new store offers a wide range of products – from everyday essentials such as jeans and sleepwear, to the latest fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends – always at the affordable prices for which Primark is known", the same note reads.
The brand recalls that, a year ago, it announced an investment of 40 million euros in the Portuguese market, including the opening of four new stores in different cities and the expansion of the Colombo store in Lisbon.
"In addition to the announced opening in Viseu, stores in Montijo and Guimarães have already been opened, and another store in Covilhã is scheduled to open next year", it says.
"These openings will bring the total number of Primark stores in Portugal to 14, increasing its total commercial area by more than 30% and creating more than 500 new jobs nationwide. Primark is also renovating several existing stores, including those in Sintra and Portimão, and has more renovations planned soon".
