Between June 25 and July 2, it increased by 45 cents (up 0.19%) to €239.38, whereas a year ago it cost almost €11 less.

"Since the beginning of the year, this basket of essential items has increased by €3.21 (up 1.36%). A year ago, on the other hand, it cost €0.91 less (down 4.77%). On January 5, 2022, when DECO PROteste began monitoring the cost of the basket of 63 food items, the price was €187.70, down €51.68 (down 27.53%)", says the consumer protection organization in a statement.

What were the prices that increased the most?

Also in the last week, between June 25 and July 2, in addition to canned tuna, products such as onions (whose price increased by 19%), liquid yogurt (up 13%) and curly lettuce (up 8%) stand out.

However, DECO PROTeste also highlights canned tuna, whose price increased by more than 6% in one week: "Canned tuna is more expensive. In the last week, between June 25 and July 2, tuna in olive oil saw its price increase by 15 cents (up 7%), to 2.27 euros. The price of tuna in oil, which the previous week had increased by 16 cents, increased again by 9 cents (up 6%), to 1.64 euros", can be read in the statement released by the consumer protection organization.
