Set on a plot of land measuring 8 hectares, and with 23 thousand square meters of gross leasable area (GLA), this new space promises consumers not only quality but also commercial diversity covering the areas of DIY, decoration, electronics, optics, fashion, footwear, food and restaurants, among others.
There are brands that are new to the south of the country, such as 'Action', 'Flying Tiger Copenhagen', 'Tienda Animal' and 'Kik' and others, which, although not new, are now being added to a space.
Located at the ends of the Retail Park, there are 2 anchor stores: a large supermarket (with a brand to be announced in the near future) and a Leroy Merlin with over 9,000 square meters that will also include an area dedicated to construction materials and professional customers.
The pre-opening ceremony of the Nova Vila Retail Park took place on Wednesday, May 27th and was attended by several dozen guests, entities from the region and some of the most important directors of Mitiska REIM, the Belgian real estate developer and investor.
"We believe that this will become one of the main meeting points in the Algarve. Portugal has welcomed us very well and proof of this is that in 8 years this is our 8th project. We continue to invest and with the projects we have in the licensing phase, we will have many works in the next 2 years", said Enzo Guidez, Country Manager of Mitiska REIM in Portugal, during the pre-opening ceremony.
A new retail park will be inaugurated on Thursday in Portimão, representing an investment of €20 million, and is expected to create more than 200 direct jobs. The Portugal News #Portimão #retailpark #business #employment #investment https://t.co/yKG2Kmc5iH

Álvaro Bila, Mayor of Portimão, praised the perseverance of the Belgian investor who has overcome all obstacles since 2018 to make this Retail Park a reality.
"Mitiska REIM has rehabilitated an area that was completely degraded and has done so with sustainability and environmental concerns as its pillars. All municipalities need projects like this, which impact the economy, but we have invested in Portimão and we can only thank you," said the mayor of Portimão.
With an investment of over 20 million euros, the Nova Vila Retail Park will create over 200 direct and non-seasonal jobs, which will be vital to retain the resident population and contribute to the development of the city of Portimão.
Nova Vila Retail Park is being built on the site of the former Portimão Retail Park, which opened in 2006 and was completely destroyed after a fire in 2012.

I personally think this is a welcome addition to Portimao, in an otherwise forlorn space. Also, retail generally pays around minimum wage anywhere in the world, I'd love to hear your creative suggestions to improve the situation
