A walking stick is probably a useful walking aid. But, in Jenny’s case, it didn’t make any difference. “A few words, blue, black and the rest!” No doubt to match her bruises.
A few new couples are arriving on our sunny shores, and APAA is hoping to add to their membership, helpers, and re-homers. “Good to see some new blood here on the Algarve. We always welcome anyone who wants to join us, whether to volunteer, take a back seat and enjoy our events. We’re just glad to have the support. And the much-needed money!” Of course.

The Association for the Protection of Animals Algarve has been collecting money from events, ‘Pop-Ups’, car-boot sales and donations just to keep the animal kingdom safe as they can with their SNiP sterilisation campaign. “Cat colonies of course, are a humungous drain on resources. But a very necessary one. This is a worldwide problem, not only here on the Algarve.”
Check out Facebook, with Lisa Dowling, APAA’s editor-in-chief, new re-homing and help needed with abandoned animals always on the APAA page. “The latest is ‘Amigo’ a small two or three-year-old chocolate dog, abandoned, needs a forever home. He is being cared for by a French couple having to return to their city home end of August and cannot take a dog with them. So this is really urgent.” Top priority furry friend lovers!
The human charity Emporium’s facebook auction is running from 15th-23rd August. All welcome, as the charity goes far and wide. “Looking after the human end of the chain is just as important, they are after all our future, for homing abandoned pets are humans!” Indeed.
