Wondersense offers a captivating journey through the five senses. Blending sensory experiences with art and technology, this space invites you to see, smell, feel, touch, and hear the world in a completely new and educational way, awakening human connections, emotions, and imagination.
In the heart of Porto's historic district, next to some of the city's biggest attractions, such as Livraria Lello and Torre dos Clérigos, Wondersense opens its doors as a new hub for art, emotion, and entertainment. More than just a space to visit, it also takes an educational role in stimulating visitors' sensory and emotional well-being. Wondersense positions itself as a whole-body experience. Across five floors, visitors are invited to activate all their senses through installations that combine creativity, design, and interaction. "Wondersense was born from a clear desire: to create a place where we can disconnect from the digital world and re-experience the world with all our senses. We want this experience to leave a real and lasting emotional mark," says Vasco Antunes, CEO of Wondersense.
Designed by the Marques Soares group, the project occupies two buildings, five floors, and over a thousand square meters of immersive, multigenerational experiences.

Throughout the tour, visitors are invited to explore rooms dedicated to each of the five senses, where different environments awaken visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile, and gustatory stimuli. Touch is explored through dynamic surfaces and moving structures; smell comes alive in spaces that evoke memories through enigmatic aromas; sound is reshaped by distorted voices and interactive sound tubes; sight is challenged by mirrors, lights, and chromatic patterns that create optical illusions. Even taste makes an appearance, with small, unexpected flavour experiences along the way along the way. The journey also includes playful, interactive highlights—like a ball pit, a room filled with balloons, and theatrical installations—designed to engage the body, spark curiosity, and encourage interaction across all ages.
Artificial intelligence tools were used to design the tour, not only as technical support, but also as a creative tool, allowing the exploration of the potential for error and the unexpected.
"We want Wondersense to become a new cultural landmark in the city, both for our visitors, tourists, and the local community. An open space suitable for all ages and tastes, especially for groups of friends and families, who can enjoy an hour of fun in a safe and controlled environment. It also reinforces the leisure offerings for rainy days, which we identified as a gap, especially in the city center," explains the CEO.

Beyond its artistic and sensory experiences, the museum is committed to supporting the emotional well-being of its visitors, offering a space for respite, reconnection, and positive stimulation. In a context marked by digital fatigue and the rise of phenomena such as anxiety and isolation, the museum harnesses the power of sensory activation to encourage the natural release of serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins – the so-called "happiness hormones" – promoting feelings of pleasure, balance, and lasting sense of well-being.
