Representing an investment of approximately €93,000, the new facility is part of the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex and was designed for athletes of varying experience levels.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 pm and will feature a dance performance by the VRSA Regional Conservatory, followed by the unveiling of the plaque and the first laps on the park, led by local athletes and guests.
The afternoon concludes with a skateboarding lesson hosted by the WallRide Association.
The construction of this new space "represents a strategic investment in youth and the promotion of physical activity, reinforcing the municipality's commitment to creating infrastructure that encourages active and healthy lifestyles," the city emphasises.
The cornerstone was symbolically laid on August 12th of last year, also in celebration of International Youth Day, marking the beginning of this project.
The celebrations continue into the night in the Jardim da Avenida da República. At 9:45 pm, the winning project of the Youth Participatory Budget, an initiative that aims to encourage civic and democratic participation among young people, will be announced.
Starting at 10 pm, the stage will host Papillon, followed by a DJ set that will close the celebrations.
