In a statement, the Alentejo 2030 Management Authority announced that the call for proposals is aimed at projects supporting homeless people in Alentejo, “with innovative local approaches in the field of social development”.
The projects must promote “strategies for the integration of homeless people” and be “aligned with national and European public policy priorities,” it explained.
The application period opened on 30 June and runs until 6 pm on 30 October this year.
The competition has an indicative budget of €1.1 million, 85% of which is co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) under the Alentejo Regional Programme 2021-2027.
According to the Alentejo 2030 Programme, applications related to the creation of multidisciplinary teams of case managers who ensure psychosocial support and referral to integrated resources and responses will be considered eligible.
These teams must also ensure the development of occupational responses that promote the employability and professional integration of homeless people.
Temporary reception and shelter actions aimed at homeless people, awareness-raising and anti-stigma campaigns, as well as training actions tailored to the emotional, cognitive, and physical and mental health needs of these people, will also be considered.
Public and private non-profit entities with proven experience or a statutory mission in the area of social intervention with people at risk of exclusion and, in particular, those experiencing homelessness, are eligible to apply, he specified.
